Welcome
My name is Anthony Marchese, known to the online community as PC Fitness. Born on Long Island, N.Y in 1967, I knew at a very young age Computers, Health and Fitness would be a part of my life, hence the name.
A Little History
It all started when I got my first computer in 1980, it was an Apple 2. Learning to use this computer was easy. Like anything, if you put enough time into it you will eventually learn it.
In 1994 I bought computer and went back to school. The plan was to get as many technical certifications as possible. After receiveing the A+ cert, a friend got me a job working with a Network Engineer in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This would turn out to be a golden opportunity. For the next few years he took me under his wing and taught me the tricks of the trade. Things you just can't learn in a classroom. He had no certifications and no schooling and he was making $180,000 a year plus full benefits.
Hands on experience ( The school of hard knocks), for me, has proven to be the only way to educate in this industry. Just my opinion. Theory or book smarts will only get you so far in the technical world. Especially when you have to troubleshoot and retrieve thousands of dollars of data from a high profile workstation and Google's not around to help.
Hired as a Systems Analyst in 2000, the company pink slipped 150 people, I was one. It turned out to be a good thing, because I ended up going into to business for myself full-time till present. ( Jan 2010 )

A note to all you youngsters looking to start a career in computers science, an MCSE certification or any other "can" make your resume look better, but without "hands on experience", certifications are just paper, they don't mean you can do the job, they mean you completed a course and now have theoretical understanding, and today, most IT employers are aware of this. So get as much hands on experience as you can, it's worth it's weight in gold even if you have to work for pennies to get there.

Health and Fitness
Certified through the International Fitness Professional Association ( I.F.P.A ), I have certifications in (Personal Training, Sports Nutrition, Sports Stretching and Strength Training for Seniors). Health and Fitness began at age 12 and snowballed into a career by 20.
I've trained people in their homes, public and private fitness clubs since 1987. I've helped motivate people of all ages with various ailments reach their Health and Fitness goals in one on one and group training.
To be a good Fitness Trainer you need to be intuitive and personable with your clients. To my clients I am more than a Personal Trainer, I am friend, a motivational workout partner and a Health and Fitness resource they can count on for years to come.
